Patrick Sheehan, a candidate for the State Senate District 19, is on a mission to amplify the concerns of parents, educators, and taxpayers; he aims to address longstanding government challenges and make a difference at the state level.
One of the pressing issues in his district is the financial burden constituents face due to high energy costs. Illinois stands out as one of the few states imposing both a gas and a sales tax on gasoline, significantly impacting everyday expenses. Patrick advocates for bipartisan efforts to cap the sales tax on gasoline, easing the financial strain on voters. Tackling rising crime rates is another top priority. He emphasizes building trust between law enforcement and the community, repealing the Safe-T Act, and implementing proactive measures, particularly in high-crime areas.
Furthermore, Patrick Sheehan believes in fostering a business-friendly environment in Illinois. He focuses on growing the economy and expanding the tax base rather than increasing tax rates.
With a background as a Plainfield Police Officer and extensive involvement in the Lockport Township Community, Patrick brings a wealth of experience and community dedication to his candidacy. He has served as the President of the Lockport Jr Porters Football & Cheer Program, coached for the Lockport Soccer Club, and is happily married to his wife Susie, with whom he has five children.
Patrick Sheehan's commitment to public service is rooted in his passion for improving his community and addressing critical issues at the state level.
